A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

People LOVE to see pictures along with social media posts. Just look at this example to see the impact of imagery:

This is an example of a post for a retail store I work with, Magpie. It reads “We have vintage-style bird water whistles for $2.95. Stop on by!” Fun and cute, of course, but not as impactful as this:

With this post, the words barely matter–you can see the cuteness of the Birdie Water Whistles just by looking at the pictures. In addition, you get the vibe of the style of the store as well.

Most of the business I work with, of course, are not updating their own social media sites–they are entrusting me to write their updates. However, we can still work to get some great photos up. Here’s some ideas on how to do that.

1. Camera Phone

Snap some pictures with your cell phone throughout the day. Create aDropboxto share with me, or, better yet, send them my way via email (stacy@homekeyorganization.com)

2. Hire a Photographer

Having professional photos for your business is a great investment to appear more professional. You may know a great photographer who can do this–or, you can ask me! (I have some great referrals!)

3. Put your customers to work

If you’re a contractor, have people take pictures of their lovely remodeled spaces.

Brick and mortar business? Have people send you pictures of themselves visiting you. They can post these to your Facebook Business Page, or send them via email.

As always, let me know how I can help!
